Listen Up! I Married A Witch will put a spell on you!

Talk about a movie oozing in HEX appeal! It’s one of my very favorites!

Jim and Madeline kick off the Halloween Season with a gem from 1942, "I Married A Witch," starring Veronica Lake, Fredric March, Cecil Kellaway, Robert Benchley and Susan Hayward. Although not technically a "Monster Movie," this fantastical tale is our Halloween gift to you. A man's life becomes very complicated when he crosses paths with two witches from his ancestor's past. Find out more on this special episode of "Monster Attack!”

A few of my favorite lines (there are many, but these I like to repeat the most):

“For tonight I merry merry be / Tomorrow I'll be sober.”

“Unhand me! Foul minions of the law!”

“I love you Truuuuu-ly. Truuuuu-ly dear!”

A woman in men’s pajamas was fairly scandalous for the time!

It was rumored that Veronica Lake and Fredric March did not like working together, but you could never tell on screen.

Isn’t this just a delightful smooch?!

Cecil Kellaway has the best one-line zingers of the film. Also, if anyone wants to make me this dress by Edith Head, I would wear this every single day until I die.

Another incredible dress by Edith Head on the stunning and talented, Susan Hayward! Susan and I share a birthday!

The Prospective Governor (Fredric March) is soon to be married to the spoiled socialite (Susan Hayward). Or is he? I think the body language says it all.

There are a lot of versions of this poster, but I like the teeny tiny book in this one of “The Passionate Witch”, which this movie is based on. I haven’t read it yet, but I sure will!
