Rest in Peace, Veronica Carlson. Until we scream, again!

I am shocked and saddened to learn about the passing of beloved scream queen, Veronica Carlson. We met in 2014 at Monsterama. We had a Scream Queens panel together that focused on acting in horror films. Talking with Veronica and sharing our memories and experiences was like reconnecting with an old friend. One of my favorite stories she shared was about her pet squirrel named “Beastie.” Unbeknownst to the cast and crew during a rehearsal of one of the scenes of ‘Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed’ Beastie was hiding under the bedcovers and began having a small fit, and gave everyone “quite a fright”. She shared so many fun anecdotes about Peter Cushing, and I learned she was an extremely talented portrait artist. A lady through and through, and, yes, her hair was that fabulous in person! An absolute treasure. Rest in Peace, Veronica Carlson. Until we scream, again!
